  1. Can you tell us about your journey from nursing to becoming an aesthetician and spa owner?

My journey from nursing to becoming an aesthetician and spa owner has been a deeply fulfilling one, driven by my passion for both healthcare and beauty. As a nurse, I’ve always been dedicated to caring for people and improving their quality of life, but I wanted to extend that care beyond traditional healthcare settings. I saw an incredible opportunity to combine my medical expertise with my love for aesthetics, where I could help clients feel more confident in their skin while maintaining a focus on their overall well-being.

  1. What inspired you to start Renewed Skyn Aesthetics, and what sets your spa apart from others?

I started Renewed Skyn Aesthetics because of my passion for combining my nursing background with aesthetic treatments to help people feel confident in their skin. What sets us apart is our personalized, medically-informed approach to beauty, ensuring safe, results-driven treatments that enhance our clients’ natural beauty while prioritizing their well-being.

  1. How does your background as an RPN enhance the quality of care and safety you provide to your clients?

As an RPN, I bring a strong medical foundation to every treatment, ensuring that client care and safety are always the top priority. My background allows me to understand skin health on a deeper level, assess individual needs more thoroughly, and provide treatments with a focus on both efficacy and safety. This expertise helps me make informed decisions, deliver precise results, and create a trusted environment where clients know they're in skilled, capable hands.

  1. What are the most common skin concerns brides have before their wedding, and how do you address them?

Brides often come to us with concerns like acne, dullness, uneven skin tone, and fine lines in the months leading up to their wedding. To address these, we create customized treatment plans that may include facials, peels, and non-invasive treatments like microdermabrasion or radio frequency skin tightening to enhance their glow. We also recommend medical-grade skincare to maintain results at home, ensuring their skin looks radiant and flawless on their big day.

  1. What treatments do you recommend for brides in the months leading up to their wedding to ensure glowing, flawless skin?

For brides, I recommend starting treatments about 3-6 months before the wedding to give the skin time to achieve optimal results. Treatments like regular facials, such as hydrodermabrasion or custom facials, help with exfoliation and hydration. Chemical peels or microneedling can address texture and tone, while radio frequency, IPL skin rejuvenation or infrared skin tightening can provide a lifted, youthful appearance. We also incorporate medical-grade skincare and treatments like B12 energy shots to ensure the skin stays glowing and vibrant as the big day approaches.

  1. How soon before the wedding should brides schedule treatments like facials, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels?

Brides should start scheduling treatments like facials, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels about 3-6 months before the wedding for the best results. This allows enough time for the skin to go through its natural healing and renewal processes. For more intensive treatments, such as chemical peels or microneedling, I recommend completing them at least 6 weeks before the big day to avoid any lingering redness or irritation. Final touch-up facials should be scheduled about 1-2 weeks before the wedding for a fresh, glowing complexion.

  1. What is your philosophy when it comes to customizing treatments for clients with different skin types and concerns?

My philosophy for customizing treatments is rooted in a personalized, holistic approach. I believe that no two clients are the same, so I take the time to thoroughly assess their skin type, concerns, and goals before designing a treatment plan. I combine my nursing background with the latest aesthetic techniques to ensure each treatment is both safe and effective. Whether addressing acne, aging, or sensitivity, I tailor every step to enhance natural beauty and achieve long-lasting results, always prioritizing the client’s overall well-being and skin health.

  1. How do you stay updated with the latest skincare technologies and trends, and which innovations are you currently most excited about?

I stay updated with the latest skincare technologies and trends by regularly attending industry conferences, workshops, and advanced training courses. I also keep close connections with skincare professionals and brands to learn about emerging innovations. Currently, I’m most excited about advancements in non-invasive treatments, like radio frequency, skin tightening, IPL skin rejuvenation and microneedling, which offer incredible results for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation without downtime. These innovations allow me to provide cutting-edge treatments that are both safe and effective for my clients.

  1. For clients with sensitive skin or skin conditions, what precautions do you take to ensure treatments don’t cause irritation?

For clients with sensitive skin or skin conditions, I take a very cautious and personalized approach. I start with a thorough skin analysis and consultation to understand their skin’s triggers and sensitivities. I use gentle, hypoallergenic products and treatments that are specifically formulated for delicate skin. I also introduce treatments gradually, monitoring how the skin reacts, and customize protocols to avoid any irritation. My priority is always to enhance the skin’s health while ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.

  1. What services do you recommend for men who are interested in skincare, and how can they benefit from treatments at Renewed Skyn Aesthetics?

For men interested in skincare, I recommend treatments like microdermabrasion for deep cleansing and exfoliation, facials tailored to their specific skin type that will address texture and roughness. Men can also benefit from laser hair removal, radio frequency, infrared skin tightening, and acne treatments to enhance their skin's clarity and firmness. At Renewed Skyn Aesthetics, we focus on creating customized, results-driven plans that address common concerns like ingrown hairs, aging, and dullness, helping men achieve healthy, vibrant skin with long-lasting results.

  1. What are the key benefits of the microdermabrasion treatment, and how often should brides get it to see optimal results?

The key benefits of microdermabrasion include exfoliating dead skin cells, reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving skin texture and radiance. For brides, microdermabrasion helps achieve a smooth, glowing complexion by boosting cell turnover and enhancing product absorption. To see optimal results, I recommend starting treatments 3-6 months before the wedding, with sessions scheduled every 3-4 weeks. This ensures the skin stays fresh and radiant, leading up to a final treatment about a week or two before the big day for that perfect glow.

  1. How do you help clients achieve long-lasting skin health, even beyond their wedding day or major event?

To help clients achieve long-lasting skin health beyond their wedding day or major event, I create personalized skincare routines that they can follow at home using medical-grade products tailored to their skin type and concerns. I also recommend maintenance treatments like regular facials, peels, or skin-tightening therapies to keep their skin looking its best over time. Education is key, so I ensure clients understand the importance of consistent care, sun protection, and a healthy lifestyle to maintain their results and keep their skin vibrant and healthy long after the event.

  1. Can you share a success story or a memorable bridal client transformation from your spa?

One memorable bridal transformation was a client who came to us six months before her wedding with concerns about acne scars, uneven skin tone, and dullness. We developed a personalized treatment plan that included a series of chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and radio frequency skin tightening, along with medical-grade skincare to use at home. By the time her wedding day arrived, her skin was radiant, smooth, and glowing. The bride was overjoyed with the results, feeling confident and beautiful, which made the experience incredibly rewarding for both of us. It was a true testament to how a customized, consistent approach can transform the skin.

  1. What aftercare steps should brides follow post-treatment to maintain their results in the days leading up to the wedding?

Post-treatment, brides should focus on gentle care to maintain their glowing results. I recommend using a soothing, hydrating cleanser and moisturizer to keep the skin calm, along with a broad-spectrum SPF to protect against sun damage. Avoid harsh exfoliants or new products in the days leading up to the wedding to prevent irritation. Brides should stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and stick to their personalized skincare routine, including any prescribed serums or treatments, to ensure their skin stays radiant and ready for the big day.

  1. How do you ensure your clients have a relaxing and personalized experience when they visit Renewed Skyn Aesthetics, especially if it’s their first time visiting?

At Renewed Skyn Aesthetics, we ensure every client has a relaxing and personalized experience, especially first-time visitors, by starting with a warm welcome and thorough consultation. We take the time to understand their skin concerns, goals, and any apprehensions they may have. Our calming environment, paired with tailored treatments and medical expertise, helps clients feel at ease.
